Ispy Alternatives For Mac
Posted By admin On 19.03.20.this is for monitoring my home / studio when I'm away. I recently bought two inexpensive IP cams - a DLink Dcs5010l and a Easyn 1bf (outdoor). Just to learn the process setting them up I'm using ISpy open source software. I have them connected via WIFI through my router to (at first my 6 core pc).

This proved to be incredibly unreliable. Lots of hangs. I learned from the forums that IP cams make your machine run really hot. Some folks suggested it's router congestion. A hardware monitor conformed I was running at 59 Celsius and its recommended to run at 42-46.
It was also suggested it could be router congestion. I never got definitive proof of that. I then tried running it on a standalone PC - an old Dell laptop - T5450 1.66 GHz - 4 gig of ram. It ran for quite a while. But I can't seem to get through full day or night where it doesn't crash.
I can't really decipher event logs that well. So I'm thinking of an alternative to iSpy. I have a powerful iMac and PC, as well as a Mac power book and the above mentioned laptop. Any suggestions for an alternative to iSpy would be gaily appreciated.
Requirements: 2 cameras Ability to dump to Google drive (this is big - proprietary cloud storage like DropCam isn't desirable) Motion detection As far as web streaming goes - I'm monitoring whichever PC is running nit using Splashtop Remote Desktop from my phone and ipad. If It's stable - it it doesn't have to be free. Look at a Synology NAS.
It has excellent software for managing IP cams (you get a licence for 2 cams and can purchase a licence to add more in the future), they can handle motion and night sensors, lots of different settings and lots of cameras are supported (not sure about your specific models, but they have a full list online). There are dedicated apps for Android/iOS to remotely monitor it and there is a web-based page too. As for dumping to Google Drive, I have not tried this but it might be possible. You can use a Synology to back up and upload to Google Drive (among other cloud storage services) so it should be possible to auto save or transfer recordings to Google.
