Posted By admin On 21.03.20Sorry if I was not clear - I don't refer to serial monitoring, but USB connection the Gemma to upload sketches From your website: Mini-USB jack for power and/or USB uploading, you can put it in a box or tape it up and use any USB cable for when you want to reprogram. How do you program the Gemma then? Allow me to provide some visual aids (see attached image): Expected is w/ Duemilanova connected, the Actual is w/ Gemma connected. I have tried (2) Gemma boards with same results, so I believe the issue is the IDE not loading the FTDI driver when the Gemma is connected. Yes, as stated in the opening thread. Arduino 1.0.5, Mac OS X 1.7.4 Went thru the custom Gemma install/config steps. installed latest FTDI drivers. Drivers are only required for Windows, if you are using a Mac or Linux, drivers are not required!

If you installed the FAST WAY, you should n't have to do anything at all with avrdude.conf - you didn't need to go through all those manual steps. Are you pressing RESET on the gemma before the upload? Does the LED on the Gemma start to pulse rapidly when you press RESET? Can you try a different USB cable and a different USB port? Does the Gemma show up at all in System Report? It will only appear when you press reset, so be sure to refresh the information while the LED is pulsing. It will appear as 'Trinket' Posts: 35095 Joined: Tue Mar 15, 2011 11:42 am Location: Buffalo, NY.
